Mrs. Frank Debevec was
hostess last Monday to the Willard Social Club members. Mrs. Kenneth Horn, Sr.,
president, conducted the meeting. They discussed how they could serve the
different charities better. Several thank you notes from different people in and
out of the hospitals were read. A lunch was served. The next meeting will be on
February 15 with Mrs. Don McFarlane as hostess.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Dunn
and Chris of Eau Claire were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Debevec.
Sylvester Champa and sons of Rochester, Minn., and Frank Champa of Chicago,
Ill., were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Champa.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Stremikis of San Francisco, Calif., came by plane as far as Milwaukee, where
they were picked up by John Stremikis, who brought them to the hem of Mr. and
Mrs. Jerome Stremikis, Sr. They spent from Friday until Monday at the Stremikis
home and returned by plane from Milwaukee to San Francisco.
Mrs. Alfred
Knute returned home last week from an Eau Claire hospital, where she had been a
surgical patient.
Mr and Mrs. Floyd Plautz and family helped Steve Plautz
celebrate his birthday. Also here to help him celebrate were Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Plautz and son, Dannie, of Milwaukee, who arrived here as a surprise on his
father’s birthday.
Louis Rajk is a patient at Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville since last week.
Edward Pekol of Chicago, Ill., was home over
the weekend with his family, returning to Chicago Sunday.
Eugene Janezich
and Mike Miller, both of Bremen, Ind., were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Janezich.
Pvt. Henry Lamovec, Jr., of Fort Sam Houston, Tex., has
graduated from the medical course there. He is home on a two-week furlough with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamovec, Sr. He expects to be stationed in
Germany.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Meinholdt of Milwaukee were weekend guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Meinholdt.
Mrs. Robert Gannon and children of Blair
are spending some time here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfonz Hemersbach,
while her husband is attending a convention in Houston, Tex.
Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Ulesich were guests Sunday of their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.
James Ulesich, in Menomonie.
Guests last Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril
Rakovec, were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pekol, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Herkert of
Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pekol, Sr., visited last Thursday with
Louis Rajk at the hospital in Neillsville.
Fifteen tables of cards were
played last Sunday night at the parish center. Robert Debevec and Mike
Klapatauskas were chairmen. A prize was won at each table. The door prize was
won by Mrs. LaVerne Gregorich. Mrs. Eva Severson won the raffle prize. A lunch
was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Doepke of Milwaukee spent the weekend with
her parents Mr. and Mrs. Julius Klapatauskas, and family.
Mrs. Robert
Debevec and daughter, Joan, were in Chicago, Ill., where Mrs. Debevec was
sponsor for the grandnephew at his baptism.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Klapatauskas were in Mosinee last Monday to help her brother, Raymond Kitzhaber,
celebrate his birthday.
Members of the Willard 4-H club had a skiing
party Sunday night at Bruce Mound.
The Rev. Michael Mertens was a dinner
gust last Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Gosar. He joined the family in
celebrating Donna Marie’s 17th birthday.
Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Baird and
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parkel, Jr., were guests last Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Baird in Eau Claire.
Miss Beverly Volovsek, who attends La Crosse State
University, was home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Volovsek, until
Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Olson and children of Fairchild, and
Ernie Olson of Berwyn, Ill., were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozega and
family.
