Beyer, Alice (Marriage - 16 September 1950)
Miss Alice Beyer, daughter of Mrs. Richard Beyer, became the bride of Edgar Tews, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tews, at a ceremony performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 3:30 o’clock on September 16. Rev. Alfred Schewe performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with baskets and vases of cut flowers.
The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with a lace collar and lace edged train. Her finger tip veil of net was edged in lace and caught to a bonnet which dipped in the front to display orange blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet of large yellow mums and white baby mums with orchid streamers.
Mrs. Walter Beyer, a sister of the groom, acted as matron of honor. She was dressed in a gold satin gown trimmed in lace. Mrs. Robert Beyer and Miss Virginia Tews, who were bridesmaids, wore green and orchid satin, respectively fashioned the same as the matron of honor. They all wore matching braided headdresses and mitts. Their bouquets were yellow pompons (balance of wedding was missing.)
