Hecker, Dealo (16 Aug. 1894 - 9 July 1960)

Dealo Hecker of Fond du Lac, a native of Colby, died at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, Saturday. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Division Street Methodist church, in Fond du Lac and internment was made in Ledge View Memorial Park cemetery.

Mr. Hecker was born on August 16, 1894, in Colby, the son of Albert and Minnie Lindner Hecker, and moved to Fond du Lac in 1916. he was the last of 14 children.

Surviving are the widow, the former Margaret Walsh, whom he married on August 3, 1920, a daughter, Mrs. Peter Kreisman of Milwaukee, three sons, Richard of Kenosha, Robert of Fond du Lac and Dealo Jr., five grand children. A son, James, was killed in World War II.

Mr. Hecker was a veteran of World War I, serving in the European sector and a former blacksmith’s helper at the Soo Line shops. He was a member of the Red Arrow 32nd Division, the American Legion, Disabled War Veterans and Blacksmiths and Boilermakers Union.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sossaman of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Eder of Rothschild attended the funeral. Mrs. Sossaman is a niece and Mr. Eder is a nephew of the deceased.
