Hemmy, Arthur R. (24 Mar 1890 - 17 July 1960)
Arthur R. Hemmy, president of the Colby Security State Bank, who had been residing in Juneau the past four years, died Sunday afternoon in a Beaver Dam hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning in the Catholic church at Juneau and burial was made in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Hemmy came to Colby from Juneau in 1920 and began his banking career here at that time as cashier of the Security State Bank. Later, he was elected president. The Hemmys returned to Juneau in 1956 where he was active in the Midland Mutual Insurance Company but he kept his official position with the bank.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert of Juneau; a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Wanda) Ellin of Slinger; nine grand children. A son, Arthur, Jr., preceded him in death.
