Holmgreen, Russell A. (6 May 1901 - 23 Apr. 1982)

Russell A. Holmgreen, 80, Black River Falls, died Friday, April 23, 1982, in a Neillsville hospital.

He was born May 6, 1901, in the Town of Albion, Jackson Co., to Rueben and Amanda Johnson Holmgreen. He was Head of Publications for the 5th Army area at Fort McCoy for 30 years and retired in 1971. He married Beatrice Severson June 11, 1925 in Winona, Minn. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Blaine, West Allis; one daughter, Ramona McKevitt, Neillsville; one brother, Gaylord, Osseo; two sisters, Lida Duxbury, Northfield, and Lorraine Bills, Oak Harbor, Wash.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons.

Funeral services were held April 26 from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black River Falls. Pastors Erik Zingelman and Albert Houts Officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Torgerson's Funeral Service was in Charge of the services.

Pallbearers were Clayton Potter, Kenneth Severson, John Holmgreen, James Duxbury, Roger Doehr, and Albert Rendigs.
