Erwin, Susan #2 (26 MAY 1858 - 6 JUN 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Susan L. Erwin, 86, head of five generations, who died Tuesday, June 6, at 8:30 a.m. at her farm home following a cerebral hemorrhage, will be held Thursday afternoon (today) at 2 o’clock at the Co-Op Funeral Home in Marshfield. Burial will be made at La Grange Friday afternoon. The Rev. P. F. Schroeder of Blair will officiate at the Marshfield services. The body lay in state at the funeral home since Monday night.

Mrs. Erwin was born on May 26, 1858, in Waseca county, Minn., and had been a resident of this community for 23 years. Her husband died on Oct. 19, 1916, and three children also preceded her in death. Surviving include 10 children, 35 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Bruce of Princeton, Minn. The children are Mrs. Ethel M. Elliott of St. Charles, Ill.; Howard R. Erwin of Milwaukee; Wilbur E. Erwin, Ben H. Erwin and Mrs. Cora Willday of Loyal; Bruce H. Erwin of Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Nancy Bordeno of Kansas City, Kan.; Allen N. Erwin of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Marian Schroeder of Blair, and Mrs. Amanda Mills of Compton, Cal.

The Tribune extends sympathy to the bereaved survivors.
