Stabnow, Theresa J. #2 (2 JUL 1944)

A very pretty wedding took place at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 2, when Sgt. Theresa Jeannette Stabnow, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Stabnow of Mellen, became the bride of Lt. Bill Hitch of Amarillo, Tex., at the First Baptist church in Oklahoma City, Okla. Lt. Erne Hite, commanding officer of the WACs, gave the bride away.

The bride wore the new WAC uniform of Beige white shantung, with corsage of orchids, and the groom wore the latest Khaki uniform.

The bride is stationed at Tulsa, Okla., in the WAC recruiting office, and the groom is stationed in a rehabilitation camp some 40 miles distant.

They took a short honeymoon trip to Amarillo to visit the groom’s parents and to see the home in which they will live after the war is won.

Theresa is the oldest granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Stabnow of West Beaver and is well known here as she spent her childhood and attended the local school here.

We all wish for them many years of wedded happiness.
