Fred Wenzel was born April 24, 1855 in Germany. On April 15, 1886 he and his wife and one child came to America and settled on their farm in Chelsea, Taylor County. They were among the earliest pioneers in that section.
On March 31, 1934 his wife preceded him in death and six months ago he came to Abbotsford to make his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wenzel.
Mr. Wenzel had been in good health until Saturday when he became ill. A heart ailment and complications of age caused his death early Wednesday morning at the age of 84 years.
He is survived by four sons, Emil, of Abbotsford, Alex of Stockton, Cal., Gust of Park Falls and Ernest of New Lennox, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Zupanic of West Allis.
