Huber, Henry (26 Sept. 1879 - 4 Oct. 1960)
Funeral services were held last Friday morning at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels in Sheboygan for Henry Huber, a former Colby citizen, who died Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan after a lingering illness. Burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery where graveside services were held.
Mr. Huber was born on Sept. 26, 1879, in northern Germany, the son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Huber. As a young boy he came with his family to the U.S. settling at Prairie du Sac, Wis. He attended elementary school and was confirmed at the Lutheran church there.
On Feb. 24, 1909, he was married to Elsa Brehm of Sheboygan. The couple made their home on a dairy farm at Colby, Wis. Following his wife’s death in 1940 he retired in 1943 and moved to Sheboygan, where he has resided since.
Survivors include: one son, Jesse Huber, of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Mrs. Willard (Lillian) Faas, of Kohler, Mrs. Walter (Evelyn) Dottal, of Sheboygan and Mrs. Joseph (Annette) Matavka, of Racine; 16 grand children; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Wierich, of Prairie du Sac, and Mrs. Henry Dieterle, of St. Petersburg, Fla. Others preceding him in death were two sons and two brothers.
