von Neupert, Mary (27 JUL 1864 - MAR 1950)

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Wagner attended the funeral of Mrs. Carl von Neupert, 85, at Stevens Point on Friday morning. She was a sister of the late Wm. S. Wagner, Sr. of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and the last of a family of five children to pass away.

Mrs. von Neupert was born at Beaver Dam on July 27, 1864, the former Mary Wagner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wagner Sr., pioneer residents of that community. She attended parochial school there, later moving to the home of her sister, Mrs. Sam Shaffer, at Colby,, where she became employed in 1885 as assistant postmistress of that village. She was married on Oct. 30, 1889 at St. Killian’s Catholic Church at Colby to Carl von Neupert, Jr., who was then a medical student. The couple lived for a time at Louisville, Ky., and following Dr. von Neupert’s graduation from medical school there in 1892, they came to Stevens Point where the doctor engaged in practice with his father, Dr. Carl von Neupert, Sr. Dr. von Neupert died in 1943.

Surviving are one son, Otto von Neupert of Chicago, and the daughter, Frances, Mrs. Harold Baebenroth of Stevens Point. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Stevens Point, at 10 o’clock Friday morning. Father James McGinley officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.
