Bodwin, Bertha (28 October 1864 - 1 October 1950)

Mrs. Bertha (Joseph) Bodwin, 86, of Eau Claire, died at her daughter’s home on Sunday, October 1, (1950), at 10:15 a.m.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at two o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. V. E. Anderson of Hope Lutheran Church of Eau Claire officiating. Interment was made in the Town of Weston Cemetery.

Mrs. Bodwin was born Bertha Mund on October 28, 1864. She came to the Town of Weston with her parents at the age of thirteen. She resided there until her marriage to Joseph Bodwin on April 22, 1888, at Neillsville. They purchased a piece of land south of Globe store, where they lived until his death in 1926. After her husband’s death she made her home with her son, Ben, on the home farm, with her grandson, near Willard, and the past six years with her daughter, Mrs. Edwin Klueckman, at Eau Claire.

She is survived by two children, Mrs. Edwin (Tressie) Klueckman of Eau Claire, and Ben Bodwin of Neillsville; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Mrs. John (Mary) Jacklin and Mrs. Fred (Rose) Barr and one brother, John Mund, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Bertha Bodwin, who died on Sunday at Eau Claire. Rev. V. E. Anderson of the Hope Lutheran Church of Eau Claire officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Weston Cemetery.

Rev. Anderson sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Florence Counsell.

Pallbearers were: Robert Schlinkert, Ted Mitte, Lebrecht Kalsow, Linus Prock, August Beyer and Eric Schoenherr.

Persons from out of town attending the funeral included: Mrs. Irene Logemann and Miss Mildred Bodwin of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Klueckman, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Clark, Mrs. V. E. Anderson of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Murdock of Spring Valley, Mrs. H. G. Fritz of Windorn, Minn., Mrs. Geraldine Stergen of Superior, Mr. Ellis Jacklin, Mary Jacklin, Byron Mund all of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Susa, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Susa and Mrs. Mamie Kuester of Greenwood.
