Dawson, Miree "Kim" (6 JUL 1941 - 23 OCT 2013)

Miree "Kim" Dawson, age 72, of Abbotsford, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, with her loving family by her side. Visitation was held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 4:00 till 8:00 PM. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Rev. Mark Neumann officiated. Burial followed the service at Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Kim was born July 6, 1941 in Korea. She was married to Elmer Dawson in Korea who brought her back to live in the US. They later divorced. She worked for 27 years until retirement at Tombstone Pizza in Medford, where she was loved and remembered fondly.

Her joys in life included spending time with her children, grandchildren, and even her "grand-doggies". She always had quite a lucky hand at gambling, and was an avid fisherman while she was enjoying her time at the cabin in Chetek with Paul Dins. A favorite pastime was crocheting and embroidering, and she spent many hours making dish clothes and towels to be gifted to friends and family. Kim loved flowers and bird watching even though much of that time was spent trying to make sure the squirrels didn't steal all the bird seed. Family gatherings consisted of huge Korean feasts with much time spent thoroughly enjoying the food and family and she always brought much laughter to the occasion. Kim had a very giving nature and her laugh was contagious. She could light up any room she walked into with her smile and friendly nature. She was only a little over 5 feet tall, but her strength of character and strong will was prominent.

Kim is lovingly survived by her children; Glen (Virginia) Dawson of Janesville, James (Caryn) Dawson of Milwaukee and Marilyn (Dan Wolfgram) Dawson of Marshfield, eight grandchildren; Benjamin Bedroske of Milwaukee, Emily (Ian) Zimmermann of Milwaukee, Nicholas Bedroske of Eau Claire, Jimmy, Alexa, Sierra, Chaz, and Asher all of Milwaukee. She is further survived by special friends, Paul Dins, Rita Dins Ashenbrenner and Soh "Francis" Jewett as well as many other friends too numerous to mention.

She is preceded in death by a special friend, Allen Dins.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
