Martens, Della (Marriage - 1950)
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Podobnik, newlyweds, are making their home on a farm near Greenwood, following their wedding trip in southern Wisconsin and Illinois. The bride, the former Della Martens, is the daughter of Mrs. Sophie Martens of Withee. The groom is the son of Mike Podobnik, Sr., of Greenwood.
Given in marriage by her brother, William, the bride wore an entrained gown of ivory satin featuring a net yoke edged with lace and buttoned down the back to the waist. Her fingertip veil of illusion fell from a crown of rolled lace. Her bridal bouquet was red roses and white pompons. The marriage vows were repeated at a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood.
Bridal aides were, Miss Mable Martens, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, Mrs. Ernest Arch and Miss Gertrude Podobnik, sisters of the groom, as bridesmaids. Richard Martens, brother of the bride, served as best man and Ernest Arch and Howard Susa were groomsmen.
