Sternitzky, William A. (28 May 1865 - 26 October 1950)

Funeral services for William August Sternitzky, 85, were held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. Burial was made in the Granton Cemetery. He died on Thursday morning following a heart attack.

Mr. Sternitzky was born in the Town of Lynn May 28, 1865. He was married to Ella Davison July 25, 1888 at Granton. His wife preceded him in death May 27, 1950.

He received his education in the Lynn School and at the Lutheran Church at Granton. He lived on his farm in Lynn for 52 years and served 45 years as director of the Lynn schools.

He is survived by seven children: Joseph of Granton, Leo of Lynn, Gilbert of Plymouth, Mrs. Carl (Edna) Jens of Plymouth, Raymond at home, Mrs. Robert (Lula) Ure of Lynn and Mrs. Milton (Freda) Johnson of Phillips, 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Martin, of Rib Lake also survives.

Two children, a sister, and a brother preceded him in death.

Services for William Sternitzky, 85, were held from the farm home on Sunday, October 29, 1950, at 2 o’clock and at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2:30 with Rev. Arthur Oswald officiating. Services were in charge of the Georgas Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were grandchildren of Mr. Sternitzky, Gilbert, Gerald, Vernon and Wayne Sternitzky, Lloyd and Roland Ure.

Floral offerings were in charge of Mesdames Arthur Short, John Grassman, Edwin Sternitzky and William Foote.

Miss Evelyn Bartsch sang two selections accompanied by Ruth Garbisch.

Persons from out of town attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jens, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Sternitzky, Gilbert Sternitzky, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker and family, all of Plymouth; Wayne Sternitzky of Platteville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schaefer of Chippewa Fall; Mr. and Mrs. Arno Ross of Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Hamerley and family, Robert Breseman, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Revelling and family, Mrs. Roy Drollinger and daughter of Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ratsch of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Johnson of Chili; Miss Caroline Noll of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Opelt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Opelt, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Opelt, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kaddatz, Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Kaddatz, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Lautenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bieneck, all of Neillsville.
