Braun, Marie Christine Johanna (9 November 1868 - 29 October 1950)
Mrs. Henry Braun, 81, Town of Fremont, died at her home on Sunday, October 29. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at 1:30 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at the Grace Lutheran Church at Nasonville with the Rev. Edgar Millville officiating. Interment was made in the Lynn Cemetery.
Mrs. Braun, the former Marie Christine Johanna Winkler, was born on November 9, 1868, at Brillion, Calumet County. She had been a resident of Clark County for approximately 59 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and for several years was a member of the ladies aid.
On December 21, 1891, she was married to Henry Carl Braun at Brillion. Nine children were born to the union. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Clyde and Ervin at home, Herbert Braun of Granton, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Marg of Chili, Mrs. Rudolph (Manella) Sonnenberg of North Chicago, Roland Braun of Waukegan, Ill., and Harry Braun of North Chicago; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two children died in infancy. A sister and two brothers died recently.
Pallbearers were: Wilbur Sanger, William Behling, Ed Ott, William Wagner, Fred Schultz and Clayton Johnson. Floral offerings were carried by four granddaughters, June, Marlene and Margie Brawn and Shirley Sonnenberg.
