The Rev. L. C. Smith, who served more than 50 years as a
Presbyterian pastor, including some time at Abbotsford, died June 17 at Appleton
at the age of 76.
He was a resident of the Peabody Manor there.
Leslie C. Smith was born Dec.
3, 1888, at Des Moines, Ia., and was a graduate of Simpson College, Indianola,
Ia., and the Moody Bible Institute.
In addition to Abbotsford, he was stationed at
La Crosse, Marinette, and Kimberly, where he served until 1962.
He is survived by three sons, Russell of New York, Philip of Los Angeles, and David of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. John K. Duffy of New York, and 10 grand children and four great grand children.
