Funeral services for Anna Theresa Zassenhaus, 81, of
Colby were held Monday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic church,
Colby.
The Rev. John Pinion officiated
at the services and at the interment, which was made at St. Mary’s parish
cemetery.
Pallbearers were Howard Crossgrove, Wilbur Becker,
Lester Schaffer, Matt Uerling, Royal Awe and Earl Butler.
Besides her husband, two brothers and sister preceded her
in death.
The Christian Mothers Society said a rosary Sunday
evening at 7:30 p.m., and a general parish rosary was said Sunday evening at
8:30 p.m.
The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the
arrangements.
Mrs. Zassenhaus died at her home in Colby at 12:45 p.m.
Monday, June 21.
The former Anna Riplinger was
born in Colby May 4, 1884.
She received her education in Colby, and on
Jan. 24, 1911, she married Fred Zassenhaus at St. Mary’s Catholic church.
The couple lived in the town of
Colby for several years after their marriage, where Mr. Zassenhaus was a
cheesemaker.
In 1915 they moved to a farm in the town of
Colby where they lived until his death in March, 1963.
Mrs. Zassenhaus then moved to Colby, where she lived
until her death.
She is survived by two sons, William and Fred of Colby,
and five grand children.

Spencer, Mrs. Mary Brill of Los Altos, Calif., Mrs. Mary Stangl and Mrs. Julius
Kademan of Marshfield, A. J. Weyhmiller of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Uerling of
Westboro, Mrs. Ray Harvey and sons of Manchester, Tenn., Hazel Riplinger of
Riplinger, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Lamont of Abbotsford, Mrs. Stanley Kostka, Mrs.
Williom Schoch, V.L. Dietsche and Florence Dietsche of Stevens Point and Mrs.
Kenneth Bonar of North Lake, Ill.
