Arletta L. Ahrens, 83, formerly of Marathon, died Thursday
October 17, 2013, at Cedar Creek Manor.
Funeral services will be 11:00
a.m. Monday, October 21, 2013, at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate.
Burial will be in the church
cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m.
until the time of services at the church.

Arletta L. Ahrens, 83, formerly of Marathon, died Thursday October 17, 2013 at
Cedar Creek Manor.
She was born November 10, 1929 in Marathon, daughter
of the late Edward and Louisa (Alquist) Braunel. On May 30, 1951, she married
Ervin Ahrens at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death
July 18, 2005.
Prior to her marriage, Arletta had been employed at the
Edgar Basket Factory. Arletta and Ervin were lifelong dairy and ginseng farmers
prior to their retirement. Among her favorite things to do were traveling and
taking day trips to the casino.
Survivors include her children, Royal
(Diane) Ahrens, Merrill, Rodney (Suzan) Ahrens, Mosinee, Cheryl (Paul) Preuss,
Birnamwood, Gary (Connie) Ahrens, Marathon, Russell (Laura) Ahrens, Mosinee,
grandchildren, Shane & Brent Ahrens; Cory (Brenda) Cooper, Angela (Tony Villa)
Cooper & Shawn (Gabrielle Kinziger) Cooper; Shelly (Josh) Kasper & Steven
Preuss; Justine, Angela & Hayley Ahrens; great-grandchildren, Taya & Antonio
Villa; one brother, Herbert Braunel.
Besides her parents and husband,
she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ahrens and her siblings, Selma
Cyrs, Carrie Michalski, Milda Petrick, Elsie Neumann, Ruth Kottke, Hilda Plautz,
Wilmer, Rueben, Edwin, Henry and Norman Braunel. Three infant siblings also
preceded her in death, Walter, Raymond and Esther Braunel.
Funeral
services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday October 21, 2013 at St. Matthew Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in the
church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at
the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m.
until the time of services at the church.
The family wishes to express
their sincere appreciation to the staff of Cedar Creek Manor for the loving care
extended to Arletta during her time with them.
