Ervin A. Ahrens, 81, town of Marathon, died
Monday, July 18, 2005 at the House of Dove, Marshfield.
He was born
November 9, 1923 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Walter and Frances
(Lindner) Ahrens. On May 31, 1951, he married Arletta Braunel at St. Matthew
Lutheran Church, Marathon. She survives.
Ervin was a dairy/ginseng farmer
in the town of Marathon until retiring in 1988. Besides putting together jigsaw
puzzles with family, traveling and hunting, he enjoyed visiting with family and
friends and driving his 4-wheeler around the farm and neighborhood. Ervin was an
active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon.
Besides his
wife, Arletta Ahrens, town of Marathon, survivors include one daughter, Cheryl
(Paul) Preuss, Birnamwood; four sons, Royal (Diane) Ahrens, Merrill, Rodney
(Suzan) Ahrens, Mosinee, Gary (Connie) Ahrens, Marathon and Russell (Laura)
Ahrens, Mosinee; seven grandchildren, Shane & Brent Ahrens, Shelly & Steven
Preuss, Justine, Angela & Hayley Ahrens; three step grandchildren, Cory (Brenda)
Cooper, Angela & Shawn Cooper; two sisters, Dorothy Woller, Merrill and Adeline
Moser, Marathon; one brother, Henry (Elizabeth) Ahrens, Marathon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Ahrens
and one sister, Laura Liebers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m.
Thursday, July 21, 2005 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon
Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Marathon. Friends
may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral
Home, Marathon and again from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at
the church.
