Wendell, Gertrude (June 1895-27 Nov 1966)

Mrs. Gertrude Wendell, 71, of Long Beach, California, former resident of Loyal, died early Sunday, of injuries received when struck by a car Friday morning While returning home from church.

Services will be conducted at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, on Saturday, Decmber 3. The Rev. Norbert E. King will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Friday morning. A general rosary will be said at 8:45 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Gertrude Graviter was born June 1895 in the town of Sherman. February 9, 1915 she married Joseph Wendell at Spencer.

Her husband died in August of 1961. A year later she moved to California to make her home with her only daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Agnes) Pena.

Besides her daughter she is survived by three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Rudolph Gravitter all of Marshfield.

She is preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
