McKenna, William #2 (1932 - 3 JUL 1950)

William McKenna, Jr., Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), Rte 1, was found dead in his 1949 car at 2:10 p.m. Monday on the Christie and Globe Road (old road bed of County Trunk H) near the new bridge over the Black River. He had committed suicide by running a flexible pipe from the exhaust of his car through the back window, death being caused by carbon monoxide gas, according to the Clark County Coroner. No inquest will be held.

McKenna, who worked on the farm operated by his parents, was discovered by C. W. Wilkens of Union Hall, Ill., who stopped for a picnic lunch near the scene and then walked down toward the river with his son. He found the motor running with McKenna in the car and notified Clark County officials. McKenna was pronounced dead when a physician, the coroner, sheriff and traffic officer arrived.
