Gaede, Jeffrey R. (14 MAY 1959 - 10 OCT 2013)

Jeffrey R. Gaede, age 54, of Withee, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee, with Rev. Tom Myhre officiating. After the service, the family will go to Riverside Cemetery for a short private ceremony. There will be a meal afterwards at Maplehurst Town Hall.

Jeff was born on May 14, 1959 to Marlowe and Ruth (Zabel) Gaede in Sumner, Iowa.

He attended Owen-Withee schools and was a 1977 graduate of Owen-Withee High School. After graduation Jeff worked at multiple farms as a herdsman and for Vessy Geiger on his farm. He also worked at Weather Shield in Medford and the Greenwood Cheese Factory.

Jeff married Sheri Haynes on October 30, 1982 in Tripoli, Iowa, and they later divorced.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycle and was an avid lawnmower and animal lover. Jeff was very generous with his time and enjoyed storytelling and joking around. He could be seen working from sunup to sundown.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Marlowe and Ruth Gaede of Withee; his children, Lisa Gaede, April Gaede, Chris (Michelle) Haynes and Matt (Marki) Struensee; six grandchildren, Skylar, Ma'Niyah, AJ'Nanaee, Kuronne, and Holly and Ethan (in February 2014); and brothers and sisters, Dean (Diane) Gaede, Verlaine Gaede, Vernon (Linda) Gaede, Teresa Gaede, Karen (Brian) Murphy, Brian Gaede and Valitha Gaede. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Gaede, and brother, Darrell Gaede.
