Fink, Goldie (Marriage - 30 Oct. 1940)
Miss Goldine Fink, daughter of Mrs. Bertha Fink and Carl Kretschmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kretschmer, Medford, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony in Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock. The Rev. J. Brandt read the marriage service in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends.
Preceding the ceremony the hymn "Oh Bless the House Whate’er Befall" was sung by Mrs. J. Brandt, Mrs. Clarence Gosse and Miss Alfrieda Schueller.
For her marriage the bride chose a floor length gown of white satin with lace bolero, lace Queen Anne collar and satin buttons down the front and back of the bodice. Her long sleeves ended in points over the hands. The long tulle veil fell in a train from a tiara of seed pearls. The bridal bouquet of white chrysanthemums, baby asters, and pink carnations was tied with a large white bow.
Her three attendants wore frocks of brocaded taffeta, made alike, with full skirt, square neck line and trimmed with velvet bows. Floral head bands with shoulder length veils to match their gowns, a shoulder corsage of pink carnations and white slippers completed their ensemble.
The maid of honor, Miss Elsie Kretschmer, Medford, sister of the groom, wore rose color, while the Misses Florence Lueck, Stetsonville, and Laverna Baehr, Milan, wore blue.
Archie Dake, Milan, Gilbert Fink, brother of the bride, Lake Geneva, and Ervin Baehr, Milan, attended the groom.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. Streamers of white, rose and blue formed the decorations in the home. A decorated bridal cake was used as a centerpiece in the table.
In the evening a wedding dance was held at Gad.
Mr. and Mrs. Kretschmer are making their home for the present here in Abbotsford, Wis.
