Making their home in Marshfield are Mr. and
Mrs. Allen Richard Strey, who were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in Grace
Lutheran Church, Rt. 1 Marshfield, by the Rev. Kenneth H. Peterson.
The
bride, the former Miss Barbara Jo Mortvedt of Marshfield, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Verne A. Mortvedt, Sr., Rt. 1 Chili, was given in marriage by her
father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victory Strey, Rt. 1 Granton. Mrs. Earl
Meissner played the organ for the occasion.
A white, floor-length gown
of satin brocade and venise lace highlighted by a chapel train was selected by
the bride, along with a bouffant veil held by a face-framing headpiece of venise
lace. She carried a cascade arrangement of white chrysanthemums, yellow roses
and baby’s breath.
Miss Edna Petersen, Wausau, was maid-of-honor; Mrs.
Ronald Jakobi, Granton, brides-matron; David Strey Granton, Bestman; Ronald
Jakobi, Granton, groomsman; and Eric Mortvedt, Chili, usher.
The bridal
attendants wore gold-colored organza and brocade gowns with matching bow
headpieces. Each carried a floral arrangement.
The wedding reception was
held at the home of the bride’s parents, where an evening dinner was also
served.
The new Mrs. Strey, a 1968 graduate of Granton High School, is
employed in Marshfield. Her husband a 1967 Granton High School graduate is
employed in Spencer.
Those who attended the ceremony from out of state
were the bride’s sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Berger, Billy JeAnne,
and Jeff, and her grandfather, Peter M. Schwartz, all of Aurora, Ill., and Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Mortvedt of Gardner, Ill., her baptismal sponsors.
