Grambach, Ben (21 March 1884 - 18 Dec 1966)
Ben Grambach, 82, Loyal, a
candy maker at Loyal and Marshfield for many years and a concessionaire at fairs
in the area for nearly a half century, was pronounced dead on arrival at St.
Joseph’s Hospital late Monday morning. Death was due to a heart attack. Wood
County coroner said he apparently had died at the wheel of his car while
driving. The car left the roadway and sideswiped a house and cam to a stop
against a tree. His wife was with him at the time but was not injured.
Services will be held at the Loyal Methodist Church, onThursday, December 22 at
2 p.m. with the Rev. Lelan Shaw officiating. Burial will be made in the Loyal
cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home until the
time of services.
Mr. Grambach was born March 21, 1884, in Waushara
County. He married Lucille Fortnum June 18, 1910, in Ripon. After their
marriage, the couple made their home in Marshfield where he was a contractor and
cabinet maker, and later operator of a confectionary and restaurant.
In
1924 they moved to Loyal, where they have operated a candy business.
Mr.
Grambach was a member of the Loyal Methodisy Church, and the Odd Fellow Lodge.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Miss Ruby Grambach,
Galesburg, Illinois; three sons, Clyde, Loyal; Russel, West Chester, Ohio; and
Lyle, San Jose, California; four sisters; ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son in infancy and a
brother.
