York, Edward Fred (27 April 1902 - 18 March 1971)

Funeral services for Edward Fred York, 68, former area resident who died March 18 in Kendall, were held Monday morning at the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Daniel Litzer of Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville, officiated and burial was made in the Zion Cemetery.

Edward York, the son of Carl and Hannah (Lehmann) York, was born April 27, 1902, in Walworth County where he lived and farmed until 1956. At that time he moved to the Town of Fremont where he farmed until his retirement in 1964. His marriage to the former Ellen A. Ross took place in 1940. She preceded him in death in 1962.

Mr. York is survived by three children, Mrs. Mildred Hellenga of Bremerton, Wa., Mrs. Floyd (Leona) Wagner of Harvard, Il., and LeRoy York of Neillsville; by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is further survived by two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Porep of Fontana and Mrs. Charlotte Wieberg of Carter, and by three brothers, Lewis York of Delevan, William York of California, and Herbert York of Illinois.
