Boie, Bertha M. (15 OCT 1891 - 4 DEC 1950)

Mrs. Oscar Boie, 59, passed away at her farm home in the Town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) late Monday afternoon, Dec. 4, 1950, after an illness of long duration.

Funeral services will be held this morning (Thursday) at 9:30 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Church. An obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. Oscar Boie passed away at her home in the Town of Worden on Monday evening, Dec. 4, 1950, after a lingering illness.

Bertha Marie Haas was born in the Town of Worden on Oct. 15, 1891, the daughter of Casper and Brigita Haas, deceased.. She was united in marriage to Oscar Boie on April 28, 1914. To this union three children were born, one daughter, Alice, Mrs. Millard Timlin of Worden, and two sons, Harvey of Worden and Byron of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She was a kind and faithful wife and mother, a true friend and neighbor, but all the care and love, skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort, were overruled.

She leaves to mourn he untimely death, her husband, three children, five grandsons, four sisters and four brothers, George, Robert, Joseph and Casper Haas of Thorp; sisters, Miss Amalia Haas and Mrs. Guy Leiby of Menasha, and Mrs. Frank Smitke and Mrs. Alfred Kaas of Thorp, and many nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. M. Muckerheide at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thursday morning at 9:30. Interment at the parish cemetery. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society and the Lady Foresters Lodge, who attended in a body.

Pallbearers were: Ray Ketterhagen, Wm. Micke, John Maier, Walter Verkuilen, Anton Benzschawel and Joseph Benzschawel.

Patiently she suffered, the pain she bore, now it is ended, she suffers no more. To sleep we leave her, in quiet and rest. The parting was painful, but God knows best.
