Staves, Mr. and Mrs. William #2 (Golden - 8 March 1971)
On March 7, Mr. and Mrs. William Staves celebrated their Golden wedding by
holding open house in the American Legion Hall. The event was planned by their
three children, Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Vernor of San Diego, Calif., Dudley Staves
of Eau Claire and Mrs. Beverly Beyrer of Colfax. Mr. and Mrs. Stave’s birthdays
are on the same day (Nov. 8) and they are the same age.
Two outstanding
numbers on the program were a solo, “The Lord’s Prayer,” by Wally Staves, their
grandson, and violin selections by Bert Hanby of Merrillan, who had played for
their wedding dance. Dudley Staves was the master of ceremonies and the cake was
decorated by their daughter, Beverly. Rev. Coram, the Methodist minister of the
Humbird- Fairchild circuit, officiated at their wedding in the home of the
bride.
