Shannon D. Melvin, 39, of Neillsville
died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. Shannon Dean Melvin was born Aug. 8, 1974, in
Neillsville, the son of Michael and Donna (Brekke) Melvin.
Shannon had a
happy childhood in a family who loved him. He was brilliant in school and
graduated salutatorian of Granton’s Class of 1992. He learned and worked with
his father for many years doing construction and remodeling. In 2000, he founded
Wood Wright Construction and worked alongside his dear friend, Clint Hannasch,
building some of the area’s finest log homes. In 2009, Shannon founded ARC:
Accessibility Resource Center, a company based on finding solutions for people
of any age and ability level to live independently.
Shannon loved riding
four-wheelers with his beautiful sons. He was patient with them, while he worked
with them in his cabinet shop building birdhouses and many other neat projects.
His passion was motorcycle riding. He loved to be on the open road with his
motorcycle and tailed south many winters with his friends, Andy Rueth or Rob
Hansen. He loved seeing concerts, listening to music by NIN, Korn, the Black
Keys, Alice in Chains, etc. He was a natural chef in the kitchen with a passion
for food that came from his mom, Donna.
Shannon was a businessman who
was proud of being successful. He worked very hard and loved growing his
businesses. He was a natural at what he did, because he believed in his
passions. Shannon was an amazing man, a great husband and wonderful father.
There will be a large space in the hearts of those who loved him, forever.
