Malinowski, Donald David Sr. (22 January 1949 - 14 October 2013)

Donald D. Malinowski, Sr., age 64, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, on Monday, October 14, 2013. Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The Northwestern Bank branch of Thorp recently announced that the local bank has opened a funeral account for the Malinowski family, following the death of Donald Malinowski. The fund is accepting any financial donations to the family for the funeral costs. For more information, contact Northwestern Bank at 715-669-5707.

Donald D. Malinowski, Sr., age 64, of Thorp, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, on Monday, October 14, 2013, surrounded by his family, and is now reunited with his parents and daughter, Mary. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Al Jakubowski officiating. Burial will take place in Old St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home, on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until the Knights of Columbus Rosary service at 10:15 a.m.

Donald David Malinowski was born on January 22, 1949, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the son of Louis and Rose (Lauer) Malinowski. He was united in marriage to Kathleen P. Kubis on August 7, 1976, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stanley. They farmed for over 20 years in the Town of Withee.

He was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus Queen of Peace Council #4634. Don had many interests, but especially enjoyed junking, Jerry Andrews Auctions, animals, and driving the Amish and Mennonites.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathleen, of Thorp; one daughter: Agnes (Lucas) Buttke of Cadott; one son: Donald Jr. of Thorp; four granddaughters: Helen, Rosemary, Bridget and Kristina Buttke of Cadott; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary Malinowski; and three brothers: Ed, Andy and Frank Malinowski.
