Humbird (25 March 1971)
Mr.
and Mrs. Dick Fitzmaurice and family came Friday and will be here for a week
with the home folks before returning to their home in Cavour, S.D.
John
Phillips took Art Allen to Madison Tuesday where Mr. Allen had his eyes checked
at the Veterans Hospital.
The Happy Hour Homemakers met Thursday at the
home of Mrs. Daniel Wallace. Leone Scholtze gave the lesson on food buying.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Aeschbacher entertained at a belated birthday party Sunday
evening in honor the birthdays of Mr. Aeschbacher and Mrs. Kate Van Horn. The
evening was spent visiting and playing “500”. Lunch was served by Mrs.
Aeschbacher.
Mr. and Mrs. William Theiler drove to Eau Claire Sunday to
spend the afternoon with his sister, Mrs. Lena Tubbs.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick
Trachsel and family of Rochester, Ia., spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs.
Millie Trachsel and other home folks.
David Smith of St. Cloud, Minn.,
has been spending a week with his aunt, Mrs. Millie Trachsel.
Guests at
the Archie Kirby home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Senske and two boys, Mr.
and Mrs. Burvil Walker and Mike Kirby, all of St. Paul, and Mrs. Marion Seelow
and Kathy of Milwaukee, in honor of Mr. Kirby’s birthday.
Ed Noyes of
Eau Claire came Monday afternoon to take Mr. and Mrs. Chet Bailey to his home.
Mr. Bailey was to have eye surgery Wednesday.
Mrs. Huldah Winscher was
taken to the Neillsville Memorial Hospital Friday evening, very ill.
Mr
and Mrs. Perle Pickett, with Mrs. Clara Tande of Alma Center were supper guests
Monday at the Adolph Jahn home in Alma Center.
Mrs. Gil Blom of Price was
here Wednesday to call on Mrs. Laura Dignin and also at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Bernard Sieg.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burnett and family of Hixton spent
Friday afternoon at the Perle Pickett home.
Mrs. Maude Newton was a
dinner guest Sunday at the Thane Joos home in Alma Center in honor of Mrs. Joos’
birthday. Later in the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Joos and Mrs. Newton called at
the Willard Newton home in Alma Center.
Visitors Saturday at the Perle
Pickett home were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Burnett and family.
Mrs. Wheeler
was released from the hospital Tuesday and is now resting quite well at her
home.
Mrs. Max Schenk of Fairchild spent Tuesday afternoon with Mrs.
Freida Zerbel.
Harold Losey and Rolla Sieg of Fairchild joined Melvin
Markham Saturday to help paint the interior of the Masonic Temple with Bernard
Sieg, who had the equipment to paint high ceilings. The work was finished in one
day.
Sunday a snowmobile party was enjoyed by some of our local folks,
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Newell and Virgil, Mr. and Mr. Orville Smith, Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Rupnow, Mr and Mrs. Daniel Wallace and Mrs. DeWitt Van Kirk. The county
park was their place to (a few words missing here).
