Kollmansberger, Robert M. #2 (11 NOV 1933 - 4 FEB 2009)
Robert M. Kollmansberger, 75, Greenwood, formerly of Loyal, died on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post #175.
Robert Matthew Kollmansberger, Jr. was born on Nov. 11, 1933, in the town of Green Grove, to Robert Sr. and Magdalena (nee Remer) Kollmansberger. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at La Tart country school and Loyal High School, graduation in 1951. After graduation, he worked at Trindal Feed Mill, Riplinger, for two years, and went to work for Soo Line Railroad. He married Sandy Ann Elstron on July 14, 1956, at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, Wis. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. After his discharge, he continued to work for the railroad until 1975, and also farmed north of Loyal, in the town of Beaver, until selling the farm in 1996, and moving to Greenwood. He drove tractor for Kevin Fellenz, doing custom fieldwork for several years. He had many interests, but especially loved his cows, hunting, fishing, watching baseball and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Greenwood; five children, Rhonda (Jeff) Hanson, Evansville, Renee Gast (Friend Dean Check), Ringle, Kurt (Tina) Kollmansberger, Chili, Kevin Kollmansberger, Greenwood, and Regan (Jeff) Beck, Eau Claire; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Myr (Florian) Seichter, Cedar Falls, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Zimmerman, Stratford, Carol Kollmansberger, Abbotsford, and Maybelle Kollmansberger, Unity; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were jis parents; one sister, Lorraine Messa; and four brothers, Leonard Kollmansberger, Harold Kollmansberger, Leslie "Frank" Kollmansberger, and Ervin Kollmansberger.
