Hart, Bertha M. (14 November 1877 - 1971)
Mrs. Bertha M. Hart,
93, a long-time resident of Humbird, died May 13, at the Mt. Washington Home in
Eau Claire where she had lived for the past two years.
Mrs. Hart was born
November 14, 1877, in Eyota, Mn, and moved to Humbird as a child. She was a
graduate of the Stevens Point Normal School, taught elementary school in Humbird
area and was a former postmistress. She had also operated a family insurance
business in Humbird. Mrs. Hart was a member of the local Order of the Eastern
Star for 72 years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of
the Humbird Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Alton Stallard
of Humbird; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services for Mrs. Hart were held Saturday, May 15, at 2 p.m. from the Humbird
Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Lura officiating. Burial was in the Mentor
Cemetery, with services by the Humbird Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The Stokes and Sons Chapel at Eau Claire, was in charge of arrangements.
