Stevens, Vera Susan (15 December 1903 - 2 February 1951)

Vera Susan Stevens, 47, died at the Neillsville Hospital on Monday, February 2, 1951, as the result of a stroke.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday at the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Vera Stevens was born at Shortville on December 15, 1903 to William and Anna Shoop Stevens. She spent her entire life in Clark County, living with her parents in Shortville until fifteen yeas ago, when the family moved to Neillsville. She received her education in the rural school at Shortville. She was employed in the city until she became ill on March 14, 1950.

She is survived by her parents, one brother, Irving Stevens of Neillsville and one sister, Mrs. James (Eva) Waller of Janesville.

Pallbearers were: Ralph Short, Floyd Hagie, Bergen Smith, Harold Ottow, Robert Prochazka, Jr., and George Beeckler.

Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Bergen Smith and Marie Smith.

Persons from out of town attending the rites were: Mr. and Mrs. James Waller of Janesville, Mrs. Elmer Nelson and Irma Nelson of Ladysmith, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dopp and daughter, Linda, of Marshfield, and Miss Ione Stevens of Marshfield.

Mrs. Frank Short and Mrs. George Albaugh sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Walter Trachte.
