Oswald, Violet (8 February 1890 - 18 March 1971)

Mrs. Albert (Violet) Oswald, 81, of Big Bend, formerly of Greenwood, died March 18 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since March 10. Services were held March 22 at the Kirchoff Funeral Home in Sparta, with the Rev. Melvin Crane officiating. Burial was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Oswald, Vernon Nolan, Warren Halbrader, William Yaeger, Michael Kaiser and Daniel Barrera.

Mrs. Oswald was born February 8, 1890, in Sparta. She was married August 14, 1907, to Albert Oswald. They farmed in the Sparta, Greenwood and Shortville area until 1956. After the death of her husband in 1958, Mrs. Oswald made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Behrens of Big Bend. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Pewaukee.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Verna) Nolan, Greenwood, Mrs. Lawrence (Winifred) Halbrader, Dousman, and Mrs. Douglas (Shirley) Behrens, Big Bend; a son, Orville Oswald, Greenwood; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
