Galstad, Marilyn (High School Honors Choir - 1971)
Marilyn Galstad, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Wilfred Galstad, has been selected as
a member of the 1971-1972 Wisconsin High School honors choir. Outstanding music
students from the entire state were heard by adjudicators at four audition
locations last February.
As a member, Marilyn will attend a three-day
camp at the American Baptist Assembly Ground at Green Lake. The choir will begin
intensive rehearsals on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 16, and will present a
concert on Saturday, June 19. Marilyn will also have the opportunity to perform
with the choir for the music educators of the state at eh Wisconsin Music
Educators conference in January 1972.
Mary Peters, daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. Robert Peters, and Marilyn Watenpuhl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvid
Watenpuhl were selected as alternates. All three girls are members of the
Neillsville High School senior choir and are active in several vocal ensembles.
The Honors project which includes the honors choir, band and orchestra, has
been designed to provide an extra experience for the musically-talented students
in the high schools of Wisconsin.
