Theilig, George (24 Dec. 1879 - 30 June 1961)

George Theilig passed away Friday evening, June 30, at the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen at the age of 81 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. William Christian officiating and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were William Singstock, William Tesmer, Louis Beyerl, Raymond Miller, Leopald Meilke and Herman Syring.

Mr. Theilig was born in the town of Colby on December 24, 1879. He married Minnie Schultz at Green Grove on May 15, 1907. They farmed in the town of Colby until 1933 when they moved to the city of Colby, Wis. Mrs. Theilig died January 9, 1955. He was educated in the local country school and was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran church of Colby, Wis.

Surviving children are William Theilig of Colby, Mrs. Ella Mengel of Owen, Mrs. Art (Alvera) Theime of Owen, Mrs. Alex (Clara) Winkel of Colby and Walter Theilig of Colby, Wis. Also surviving are 22 grand children and 24 great grand children.

Preceding him in death were a daughter who died a very young girl, five brothers and four sisters.
