Casler, Hazel Irene (Marriage - 21 April 1951)

In a private double ring ceremony, held at high noon on Saturday, April 21, 1951, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Marshall, Wis., Hazel Irene Casler of Marshfield was married to George M. May of Wisconsin Rapids.

The vows were repeated after the Rev. William A. Baumann, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The vocal soloist, Mrs. William A. Baumann sang, "O Perfect Love" following the ceremony.

The couple entered the church on the strains of "Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring" by Bach, played on the church’s pipe organ by Miss Grace Baumann, student at Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Ill.

The attendants were Pvt. R. Thomas Casler, son of the bride, and in military training at Camp McCoy, Wis., and Mrs. Jack H. Casler, daughter-in-law of the bride, residing at Lake Mills, Wis.

A wedding dinner was served at 1 o’clock in the new parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, prepared by a group of ladies belonging to the society of the Willing Workers. The wedding cake was beautifully banked with an arrangement of pink and blue flowers for the occasion. At 3 o’clock Mr. and Mrs. George May left for a short wedding trip and will be at home in Wisconsin Rapids.
