Daniel B. Lewis, from Flora, Ind., is stopping at the Commercial House. He desires to locate here with his family if he can find a suitable house.

There will be preaching in the Presbyterian church next Sunday evening. Rev. W. T. Hendren occupying the pulpit.

Rev. and Mrs. Kloster are receiving a visit from her sister and family, Rev. McKinney and wife of Marshfield.

Henry Holzhausen of Thorp was in town Friday in the interest of a creamery separator.

Greenwood might have several more good families as residents if only there were houses for them to live in.

Louis Cohen visited in Fairchild a day or so last week.

Mr. J. Memhard has kindly given the use of his phonograph to the ladies at their supper next Friday at the M. E. parsonage.

The Larson Sunday school was organized last Sunday with Gilbert Phillips superintendent, Mrs. George Harlow secretary, and Mrs. Ed. Vine treasurer. They will meet at the school house at 2 o'clock each Sunday.

Philo Mead and John Sanders of Longwood were in town yesterday.

At the meeting of the fire department Monday evening, Ed. Wollenberg was elected chief, Will Smith assistant chief, David Shanks warden, I. E. Borseth foreman, Ferdinand Wollenberg secretary, and P. E. Peterson treasurer.

B. L. Bailey's crew have come home, leaving him there to run the business alone.

Chas P. Alton of the town of Mead, and Miss Mame Tormey of Thorp, were married at Marshfield Tuesday.

Max Wilner and Frank Richison have made a trade whereby the latter becomes the owner of the eight acres of land about three miles north of town. Mr. Wilner and family have taken quarters for the present with B. Bielshowsley and family.

Johnnie Kippenhan has purchased the Julius Steiners property across Rock creek. Johnnie is sharp enough to lookout for a nest early.

H. A. Peabody and wife of Alma Center are the guests of their son, C.M. Peabody, and wife.

Jason Mack as developed quite a local reputation as contortionist. Instead of using a mat, however, for his feats he prefers a nice deep mud hole on Main street.

Grandma Carpenter has improved enough to be able to come up to Greenwood and be cared for by George and his sister, Mrs. Pfeifer.

E. H. Wood came up from Janesville Monday to look after interests here. He may possibly do some building this summer.

Ethel Heaslett is helping Mrs. Peabody this week in the dressmaking shop.

A husky boy at the home of John Severson and wife Tuesday, April 10 and John smiles.

Ed. Parker and wife went to Galesville Wednesday to attend the wedding of his sister, Miss Emma Parker, which occurs there today. The bride is well known here, having visited here last summer and before.

Robt. Howard, an old and prominent resident of the town of Grant, died last Thursday and was buried Saturday.

Druggist Charles Conroy has so far gained his strength as to be able to go to Milwaukee where he is recuperating at home.

Julius G. Lambert is the name of the new butcher who has taken charge of V. Hendrickson's shop. He comes from Fairchild.

Adolph Rogers and Joe Christie are up in Michigan on the drive.

Mrs. Frank Pfeifer, with Leigh and Elva, are down from Medford, helping care for her mother, Mrs. Carpenter.

John Huntzicker of Eaton, has been at Neillsville this week attending court.

Andy Wilson and Frank Tuttle accompanied the Woodmen to Fairchild Friday.
