Wepfer, Myron C. (June 1961 - 7 Aug. 1961)
A rural Abbotsford couple’s eight-week-old son suffocated Monday afternoon while their six children were alone with a 19-year-old baby-sitter. The victim was Myron C. Wepfer, Jr., of Abbotsford, Route 1.
Marathon County Coroner Herbert Lambers of Edgar, said the suffocation was caused by an advance case of pneumonia.
The baby-sitter had laid the infant on a bed about 1:50 p.m. Monday and gone back downstairs. When she went back upstairs to check on the baby, she found it turning blue. The Wepfers were at an Abbotsford real estate office in Abbotsford, Wis. The baby-sitter called Wepfer and he was back home in 10 minutes, but his efforts to revive the infant by mouth to mouth respiration failed.
Besides his parents, brothers and sisters, survivors are his paternal grand mother, Mrs. Harold Wepfer of Chicago, Ill., maternal grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson of Berlin; maternal great grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Zahorka of Colby and paternal great grand mother, Mrs. William Wepfer of Colby, Wis.
