Mrs. Ed Frome Sr. underwent surgery at the Memorial hospital, Wausau.

Joe Zahorka of Rice Lake spent last Thursday with his brother, John Zahorka.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sasse at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital August 16.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Kalson of Colby, Route 1, at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital August 20.

Mr. and Mrs. James Rachau and Jimmy of Highland, Ind., were week-end guests at the Roy Nagel and Floyd Van Dreel homes.

Everett Baily, who has been on Wake Island, is visiting his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Draeger.

W. R. Hafer of Corapolis, Penn., spent the week-end at the Woodrow and Junior Tesmer homes while passing through Colby on a business trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Randall Sterzinger and son, Darrel, Galen Scheibe and Mrs. Laura Sterzinger visited Sunday at Schofield with the Rudolph Vesley family.

Pauline Altenberger will return to Sheboygan Friday after spending two weeks with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Laux, and sister, Martha Rahn.

Mrs. Melanie Cutts of Atascadero, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dehne, son, Paul, and daughter, Laurie, of PasRobles, Calif., visited several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hainzlsperger and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hainzlsperger of Greenwood visited recently at the home of Mrs. Lena Sterzinger and her son, George, and at the John Hainzlsperger home.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Block, Jerry and Jay, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Miller, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Art Schultz and Mrs. Johanna Schultz attended the wedding of Jerry Block and Carrole Lamb in Chicago, Ill., August 12.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lange and daughter, Mrs. Grace Hainer, and grand daughter, Mary Kay, of Milwaukee spent the week-end with the latter’s sister, Mrs. Lena Meyer, and also at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Meyer.
