Babka, Mary (7 September
1892 - 12 April 1971)
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Babka, 78, of
Neillsville, who died here April 12, are to be held Friday, April 16, at 11 a.m.
from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles D. Brady is to officiate, with
burial to be made in the parish cemetery. The body of Mrs. Babka is to be in
state this (Thursday) morning at the Georgas Funeral Home, where a Rosary
Service is scheduled for 8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. Babka, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kumbera, was born September 7, 1892, at Oconto Falls,
where she received her education. Her marriage to John J. Babka took place July
13, 1909, at Oconto Falls. They farmed at Suring from 1909 until 1954 when they
retired and moved to Neillsville. Mr. Babka died on July 29, 1964. She was a
member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of St. Jude’s Circle.
Survivors
include two sons, Lawrence Babka of Black River Falls, and William Babka of
Green Bay; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Violet) Kraker of West Allis and Mrs.
Maureen Krauter of Zion, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Babka, 78, of Neillsville, who died were
April 12, were held Friday, April 16, at 11 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic
Church. The Rev. Charles D. Brady assisted by the Rev. James Kraker of Tomahawk,
officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Al
Heiser, Anthony Blahnik, Joseph Kumbera, Leonard Kumbera, Fred Kamke, and Jerry
Delvaux.
Mrs. Babka’s children who attended the services were: Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Babka and family of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Kraker of West Allis, Mrs. Maureen Krauter of Zion, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs.
William Babka of Green Bay.
Grandchildren who were present for the
services included: Allen Krauter and Francis Krauter of Baldwin Park, Ca.;
Arthur Krauter of Longmont, Co.; Mrs. Joyce Smoot and son Timothy, of Zion, Il.;
Mrs. James (Alice) Enright of Virginia Beach, Va.; Michael Krauter of Zion, Il.;
Mr. and Mrs. Gail (Rose Mary) Marrow and daughter, mary Lynn, of Oak Park, Il.;
Mrs. Ruth Norton of Waukegan, Il.; Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Babka of Green Bay.
S/Sgt. Anthony Krauter, serving with the Air Force in Thailand, was unable to
attend.
