Henke, Phyllis (14 JUN 1951)

Miss Phyllis Henke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Henke of Stanley became the bride of Marlin Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Stanley, in a ceremony performed by Rev. Edwin Knauf at St. Ann’s Church in Stanley at 9:00 o’clock Thursday morning.

The couple was attended by Donald Henke, the bride’s brother, as best man, and Rita Capaul, who wore a dress of blue nylon marquisette.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin ney yoke edged with lace and a long train. She wore a fingertip veil and lace crown. Her wedding bouquet was of red roses and carnations.

The second attending couple was Duane Jacque, cousin of the bride, of Thorp, and Doris Johnson, the groom’s sister, who wore a pink nylon marquisette gown. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of colored asters.

The bride’s mother was attired in navy blue and white sheer and the groom’s mother wore navy sheer. Both wore corsages of pink and white carnations.

Edwin Johnson and Robert Capaul, cousins of the groom and bride respectively, served as ushers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are graduates of the Stanley High School and the groom spent twenty months in the army. They are spending their honeymoon in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois, and upon their return will reside on a farm in the Town of Worden (Clark County, Wis.).
