Brinkmeier, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar (Golden - 20 April 1971)

Former area couple to observe their Golden Anniversary; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brinkmeier of Apple River, Ill., will observe their Golden wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, at their home.

Oscar Brinkmeier and the former Amanda Kortner were married April 20, 1921, in Shannon, Ill. They moved to Clark County in 1932, residing in the Sherwood area until their return to Illinois in 1948. Mr. Brinkmeier served on the Clark County Board of Supervisors for nine years.

The Brinkmeiers are parents of a son, Glen, of Oxford, and of a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Irene) James of Apple River, Ill. There are four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
