Bryan Home (15 April1971)
Bryan Home Activity: Two area organizations have assisted recently with
activities at the Bryan Home. They are the Happy Hour Homemakers and the Pine
Valley American Lutheran church women.
On Good Friday, the ladies of the
Pine Valley Church presented a devotional service for the men. Appropriate hymns
were sung by a seven-voice choir from Memorial Home. The singers were
accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Virginia Karnitz. A lunch of cookies, cake and
donuts was provided by the women; Mrs. Bryan served coffee.
Mrs. John
Apfel, Mrs. Carl Opelt and Mrs. Ben Urlaub, all members of the Happy Hour Club,
brought cookies to the home on April 2 Coffee and ice cream to complete the
lunch were provided by Mrs. Bryan. Carl Opelt also was present and entertained
residents by playing the piano; neighbors of the Bryans, Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Dahnert and Mrs. Ellen Englund, were present, also, and assisted the others with
an afternoon of traveling Bingo.
