Ambelang, Ida Maria (12 August
1888 - 19 April 1971)
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Maria Ambelang, 82,
of Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died here April 19, were held Wednesday, April 21 at
1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. George E. Yons of the United
Church of Christ officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Ambelang, the daughter of David and Maria Walther, was
born August 12, 1888, at Louisville, Nebr., and received her early education and
graduated from high school in that state. She was married to Harry Ambelang* on
January 26, 1910, in Havelock, Nebr. Mr. Ambelang died in 1969.
The
Ambelangs came to Clark County in 1917 and farmed for the past 50 years on the
same farm in the town of Hewett (now operated by their son, Harry (Ruby)
Ambelang. She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Neillsville.
Survivors include a son, Harry Ambelang of Rt. 2, Neillsville; two sisters,
Mrs. C. C. (Elsie) McCoy of Lincoln, Nebr., and Miss Laura Walther of Honolulu,
Hi. a brother, Harry Walter of Vallejo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services for
Mrs. Ida M. Ambelang, 82, of Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died here April 18, were

Pallbearers were William
Schulz, Wilson Bohnhoff, George Mashin, Leo Sischo, Leslie Cook and William
Sollberger. Mrs. Sarah Smigelski sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “the Gift of God’s
love.” She was accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Those from out of town
who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Cook of Granton, Mrs. J. A.
Burchell and Art Christen of Humbird, and Mrs. George Waller of Withee.
