O’Brien, Mary Jane (13 Aug. 1881 - 7 Oct. 1961)
Mrs. Mary Jane O’Brien died Saturday noon at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield at the age of 80 years, old age complications being the cause of her death. She had been residing at the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen.
Pall bearers were Jerome and David Rueden and George, Ed, Richard and Wayne O’Brien.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Tuesday morning, Rev. John Pinion officiating, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.
Mary Jane Reid was born in Ontario, Canada, on August 13, 1881. She was married in 1905 at Peterboro, Canada, to Patrick O’Brien. The couple came to Wisconsin in 1920 and settled on a farm in the town of Colby in 1942. Mr. O’Brien died on September 3, 1948, and in 1950 Mrs. O’Brien moved to Colby, Wis.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph of Marshfield, James of Loyal and Sylvester of Owen; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Bertha) Rueden of Abbotsford; a sister, Mrs. Kattie Galvin of Peterboro, Canada; 18 grand children; 16 great grand children.
A brother preceded her in death.
