Karpinski, Martha (27 NOV 1951)
Miss Martha Karpinski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Karpinski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), wore a lovely gown of ivory Burmil satin for her marriage on Nov. 27, 1951 to Victor Wojt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Wojt, also of Thorp.
The ceremony was performed by Father Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church, at ten o’clock. The church was beautifully decorated with palms. During the service Mrs. Stanley Hucker sang "Ave Maria", "Panis Angelicus" and "Mary Dearest Mother". The bride place a bouquet of white mums on the Blessed Virgin’s altar.
The bride was escorted up the white carpeted aisle by her father. Her gown was detailed with an imported lace yoke, tiny collar, fitted bodice and long sleeves. The skirt, in redingote style, had imported lace scallops around it extending into the train. She wore a matching veil of lace fastened to a satin tiara beaded with white sequins. A gold cross was her only jewelry and she carried a bouquet of white roses.
Miss Gertrude Tomkowiak, niece of the bridegroom, was maid of honor in a fuchsia satin gown fashioned with fitted bodice, full skirt and deep imported lace bertha with tiny standup collar. She wore gauntlets and a half hat to match her gown. The bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Karpinski, sister of the bride, and Miss Eleanor Karpinski, cousin of the bride, wore identical gowns only in blue satin. They had matching gauntlets and half hats. The brides aids each carried a garland of roses.
Adam Wojt was his brothers best man, with Thomas Osowski as groomsman.
A corsage of yellow roses accented the wine colored dress worn by the bride’s mother. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy dress with a red rose corsage.
A reception was held at St. Hedwig’s Hall and was attended by many friends and relatives. Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wojt, Mr. and Mrs. John Filipek, Adam Wojt, Mrs. Harold Powers, Thomas Osowski, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Seller, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hucker.
Mr. and Mrs. Wojt will reside on a farm in the town of Withee.
The bride graduated from the Thorp High School and the Radio Television Institute of Minneapolis.
