Chili (29 April 1971)

Fremont homemakers met Thursday afternoon, April 15, at the home of Mrs. Everett Kauffman. Mrs. Myrtie Davis was a guest at the meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Phelps Spry returned Friday evening from Florida where they spent the past three months.

Guests Monday at the Harold Montag home were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schultz of Greendale and Mrs. Edna Spuhler of Marshfield.

The UCGO of Immanuel United Methodist Church is to meet this (Thursday) evening at 8 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Meissner.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kauffman visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll at Granton.

Four young people were to be confirmed Sunday, April 25, during 11 a.m. worship services at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Chili. The Confirmands are Carey and Terry Prust, Terry Sutton, and Tracy Mews.

Ladies Aid Meets:

The Ladies Aid of Christ Lutheran Church at Chili met recently at the church. Mrs. Carsten Lovstad was the hostess. The Rev. Roland Roehrs led the topic, which was titled “What is the Christian Style of Life?”

The group made plans to attend the Spring Rally of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League at the Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield on April 21. Speaker for the event was to be the Rev. L. Kenneth Zank of Orange, Ca. assistant executive director for the Lutheran Bible Translators, Messengers of Christ Inc.

Seven Ladies Aid Members attended the Friendship Night last Thursday evening at the Nasonville Church. They were Mrs. Elmer Steffen, Mrs. Victor Montag, Mrs. Melvin Bandt, Mrs. Leo Roehl, Mrs. Tina Cole, Mrs. Frieda Dahl, and Mrs. Harold Montag.

Mrs. Martin Dankemyer and Mrs. Henry Grottke, Jr., were honored for April birthdays.

The May hostess will be Mrs. Fred Lewin.
