Humbird (29 April 1971)
Last Sunday three carloads of ladies came from Altoona bringing cake, hot coffee
and ice cream to help Mrs. Mary Jenswold celebrate her birthday. She was
surprised and happy to have so many of her old friends remember and come to
visit her on her birthday.
Mrs. Alex Lubinski of La Crosse has been here
with her sister, Mrs. Huldah Winscher, for the last two weeks. Mrs. Winscher is
recovering nicely since surgery.
Cullen Dignin entered Sacred Heart
hospital Sunday and was to undergo eye surgery Monday.
Mrs. Helene
Nelson and Mrs. Hilda Schneider of Eau Claire spent Sunday at the Newton home.
Mr and Mrs. Mel Markham, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Losey, Nordahl Fristad, Mrs.
Raymond Stuve and Mrs. Maude Newton were in Osseo Thursday night to attend the
annual review of Osseo Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Harriette
Gorst spent Sunday with her daughter, Mrs. Glen Colwell, near Taylor.
Mr
and Mrs. Raymond Stuve were in Eau Claire Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Cullen
Dignin, Mrs. Edith Smith, and Mrs. Norman Nibbe of Hobart, Ind., attended the
funeral of Guy Crandall in Mondovi last Thursday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ben Shara of Alma Center visited Friday afternoon at the Jake Lightfoot home.
Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice called at the Ray Duxbury home near Merrillan
Friday evening.
Mrs. Freida Zerbel is spending a few days with her
daughter, Mrs. Laverne Kaufman.
Glen Kutchera expects to enter a
hospital in Rochester, Minn., this week for treatment.
Mrs. Elmer Duerkop
and Mrs. Emma Gerber attended the funeral of Alex Anderson of Poynette in Alma
Center Monday. Mr. Anderson lived in north Alma Center area before moving to
Poynette.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby drove to Minneapolis Saturday where
they attended the wedding of her nephew and then were overnight guests of their
daughter, Mrs. Everett Senske, and her husband in St. Paul.
Mr. and Mrs.
Charley Fees, accompanied by Mrs. Doris Olson of Augusta and Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Laffe attended the wedding of Miss Debbie Bozala and Gerald Johnson Saturday in
the Upper Pigeon Church near Northfield.
